Germany
is an unusual country, when it comes to property ownership.
Although at the heart of modern Europe, its property prices
have remained fairly stable (and low) for many years.
The
Germans have traditionally been a nation of renters,
with fewer than 50% of people owning their own homes.
Mortgages have historically been difficult to get
and although that is changing, long-term renting is still the
norm for most people. This makes German property a good choice
for long-term investment.
It's not just investors who should be interested in Germany,
however. The country has its own seaside resorts on the northern
coastline and these can make an excellent and unusual location
for a holiday home.
